Our British Isles 2020 route is a fast-paced tour of some of the UK & Ireland’s most awe-inspiring destinations. Experience authentic European backpacking, travelling with a small group of likeminded people, staying in hostels and travelling on public transport with an experienced guide.
With unmissable included activities and an exciting library of optional excursions as well as plenty of opportunities for self-guided exploring, this is the ultimate way to experience all that this amazing region has to offer.
Travelling with you throughout, your tour leader will ensure your trip goes smoothly; making sure you arrive in each destination safely. They’ll also co-ordinate essential and optional activities such as walking tours and pub crawls- not to mention making sure you’ve got a cold beer waiting for you upon arrival in each hostel.

London (2 Nights)
Britain’s capital city may be huge, but central London is surprisingly walkable, from the quirky pop-up stalls of the south bank to the glitz of the West End and out to Hyde Park. The culturally diverse nature of the city makes it one of the most buzzing and cosmopolitan in the world.
After you arrive at your hostel in, you’ll meet your tour leader and the rest of the group at the hostel bar and enjoy a welcome drink on us before heading over to the Shard tower to enjoy a free welcome drink and one of the best views over London.
Kick-off your trip with a full day of sightseeing in the capital. Walk along the River Thames, see the London Eye and get your picture taken in front of Big Ben. Get one of the world-famous red double-decker buses and follow your group to Buckingham Palace, where you can watch the changing of the guards. You’ll then have some free time in the afternoon to visit Notting Hill and Portobello market, stroll through Camden or head out for some high-street shopping on Oxford street.

It’s time to say goodbye to London and head towards Wales! One of Great Britain’s most overlooked destinations, this tiny country is home to some of the British Isle’s most impressive scenery, unique culture and incredible cuisine.

Welcome to Llandudno! Once one of the UK’s most vibrant and popular holiday destinations, this quaint seaside destination is an authentic taste of traditional British holidaymaking.
Start your time here with a walk down the famous Llandudno pier, check out the penny arcades and buy a traditional stick of rock candy before exploring the seafront. Liverpool (2 Nights)
While traditionally serving as an industrial centre and major port city, Liverpool has managed to build enormous character over the past century, subsequently becoming a tourist haven of the north. Home town of the biggest band in the world the Beatles, Liverpool has solidified itself as a Mecca for music fans. Also boasting multiple museums and galleries, a UNESCO World Heritage City Centre and a fanatical football culture, Liverpool has something to offer everyone.
After arriving into the city from Llandudno and checking into your hostel, why not head out and grab a few drinks in the bustling Concert Square. The next morning take some free time to explore the city before the group do the Blitz to the Beatles walking tour, where you will learn all about Liverpool’s rich culture, which was largely shaped by the rise of the Beatles. You’ll walk the streets and alleyways that have inspired generations of musicians and artists, while also learning about the city’s history from WWII to the present day.

Manchester (1 Night)
During the 19th century, Manchester was at the forefront of the industrial revolution, specializing predominately in textiles. It has since carried this reputation with it. Now, in the 21st century, development is in full force with art galleries, restaurants and trendy bars continuing to blossom. Throw into the mix the multiple museums, a legendary music scene and proud sporting culture and what you get is fun and energetic English city.
After arriving at your hostel, grab a welcome drink and take off with your group to Junkyard Golf- this funky mini golf arena is filled with neon lights, crazy statues and delicious cocktails. Then, why not choose from one of our fantastic optional activities for the city? Football fans can walk around the world-famous Old Trafford or Etihad Stadiums, home to Manchester United and Manchester City respectively. Before reaching your next hostel, you’ll spend the morning in York- one of England’s oldest cities. This is a must-see for anybody hoping to lap up some old-British culture. Walk the city walls, see the birthplace of Guy Fawkes (The anarchist who famously tried to destroy the houses of parliament), and follow the winding cobbled streets to the world-famous York Cathedral.

Edinburgh (3 Nights)
Home to the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh is proud to call itself Scotland’s capital city. Immerse yourself in its dramatic castles, beautiful views, traditional pubs and windy streets. Take the hike up to Arthur’s Seat for the best views of the city, and head to Sandy Bell’s in the evening for traditional brews and folk music.
Fans of the Harry Potter series will get the chance to dive into the magical world of witches and wizards, as the city is full of filming locations and magical spots author J.K. Rowling drew inspiration from. Visit Tom Riddle’s grave and walk down Diagon Alley, or see where Rowling came to write at the Elephant House cafe.
No matter what you’re into, Edinburgh is sure to have something for you. Join your group in walking the castle walls, taking in jaw-dropping views of the entire city before heading out on an included Ghost tour of the old Edinburgh city, deep beneath the modern version we see today. Portrush (2 Nights)
Welcome to Northern Ireland! After a long day of travelling, get a good night’s rest for the next action-packed day, on which you will tick off many of Northern Ireland’s most popular tourist attractions.
On your first day, the group will take part in an included tour of the Antrim Coast, starting with the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Giant’s Causeway, climbing the volcanic columns to take in the breath-taking Irish coast. Then, you’ll head to the famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge? Optionally, cross the bridge itself high above the choppy coastal waters. Photographers, this could well be the stop to get those awe-inspiring Instagram pictures! Finally, why not stop for a quick tipple at the Old Bushmills Distillery? Where you’ll be able to sample some traditional Irish whiskey.

Belfast is the capital and largest city in Northern Ireland and offers a lively historic city centre, the famous Titanic Quarter, fun pubs, excellent museums, hundreds of street murals, beautiful gardens and green spaces with wonderful Victorian architecture. Spend some hours exploring the city and view the majestic City Hall of Belfast, stroll through the botanic gardens or check out the urban waterfront of the Titanic quarter.
The Titanic was built in Belfast’s very harbour. If you want to learn more about the story of the once thought “unsinkable” ship, visit the Titanic museum. Dublin (1 Night)
A small capital with a huge reputation, Dublin has a mix of heritage and hedonism that will not disappoint. All you have to do is show up! Bustling bars and live music venues line old cobbled streets in one of Europe’s- if not the worlds- most lively cities.
Once you arrive at your hostel, head straight out to discover Dublin’s fantastic nightlife! Head to the pub for a pint of Guinness, get your picture taken in front of the world-famous Temple Bar and check out some local talent at one of the many live acts around the city. Before the train to Galway the next day, you will have time to explore the city or take a tour through the famous Guinness beer factory- be sure to grab a free pint on the way out to experience a true taste of Ireland.

Galway (2 Nights)
With its tangled lanes and colourful shopfronts curving around Galway Bay, this vibrant city is one of Ireland’s most picturesque destinations. Bolstered by an energetic student population, it’s also one of the island’s most vibrant communities, with live music, atmospheric pubs, a seafood-driven culinary scene and a jam-packed calendar of events Galway is a must-see!
Galway is a great starting point to explore the surrounding countryside. With a coastline overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, rolling hills of green and rock formations shaped by wild waves are never far. Climb to the top of the famous Cliffs of Moher, to admire the stunning vistas the vantage point can provide.
After returning to your hostel in the evening, grab a meal and drinks with the rest of your group before you all return to Dublin the next day to take your respective flights home.Galway Guides
