Main Districts

Old Town

Major attractions include the medieval Toompea castle, the orthodox cathedral & the Lutheran St Mary’s cathedral. Tallinn’s atmosphere Old Town oozes character and is a great place to stroll and soak up its history! If you’re after a drink, a coffee or some food, this is the place to head too!

Kadriorg

This district is just 2km from the centre and is served by regular buses & trams. Attractions here include the spectacular Kadriorg Palace and the Art Museum of Estonia.

Pirita

For a 360’ of the city and a change of scenery, make sure you include Tallinn TV Tower on your sightseeing list. You’ll also find the botanical gardens in this district too.

Medieval Old Town

Tallinn’s old town is one of Europe’s best preserved medieval towns. With cobbled streets, medieval churches and gothic spires the history of this town is kept alive.

Kadriorg Palace

Built by Niccolo Michetti in 1718 the Palace now houses the Art Museum for Estonia’s foreign collection. The Decorated main hall is a must see in the Palace; with its stunning Baroque design.

Tallinn Botanical Gardens

The botanic gardens, just outside of the city, are a nature lovers dream. The picturesque gardens are home to thousands of plant species, some of which are the most unique in Estonia.

Best Places To Go Out

Tallinn is well known as one of the top European cities for nightlife. The city does not lack a selection of bars, pubs, and clubs, with something to cater for everyone’s taste.

  • Vabank: The two story former bank building plays RnB and Disco music and has many VIP rooms. The minimum age to get into Vabank, however, is 21.
  • Club Prive: Certainly one of the more popular clubs in Tallinn. The unique club is dimmed with purple light and often hosts popular Estonian and European DJ’s.
  • Club Hollywood: Situated in the old town, Club Hollywood is always popular on a weekend. Many international musicians have performed here including Basement Jaxx.

Free Walking Tour

Between the months of May and September free walking tours run every day at 10:00am, 12:00pm and 3:00pm, in other montha there is one tour a day at 12:00pm. The meeting point for the tour is in front of the Tallinn Tourist Information centre.
