Trip Description

Take a quick getaway to Western Europe’s big ones!

If you’re travelling from the UK, make things easier on yourself and start your trip from your local coach or train station before heading to London on a whistlestop train adventure. Your first stop is Paris; you’ll get to wake up to phenomenal views of The City of Lights! Stroll around Parisian Montmartre with its Bohemian artist community and pretty red-canopied cafes. Go classic with the iconic sights of the Louvre, Notre Dame and, of course, the Eiffel Tower! If you’ve seen it all before, head to the Pompidou Centre for your modern art fix, or sip on cocktails around Quai de Jemmapes. We promise that your bank account won’t suffer too much!

Next up is a stay in the iconic lagoon city Venice; have a gondolier or vaporetto take you along the picturesque canalways whilst drinking in architectural wonders like the Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Basilica. If you fancy something a little different, take a motorboat to the islands of Murano and Burano to watch artisan craftsmen at work and even pick up some unique souvenirs to take home.

Then bring your trip to a close with a couple of nights in magnificent Rome. Soak up the Italian dolce vita in the cosmopolitan capital and one of the world’s most photogenic cities. The Coliseum, the Trevi Fountain and Castel Sant’Angelo, are all dead-cert must-sees, of course! When night falls, the city really comes alive… Head to any of the city’s many unique clubs and jazz bars, and you’ll be guaranteed a great night!

The Route

Itinerary

This 1 week London to Rome route takes you around the major players of Western Europe in a whirl, taking in 3 European cities in 8 days. Most of your journeys will have some flexibility, and you’ll travel during the day except for one night train. You’ll have a mix of shorter and longer trains, but don’t worry – we’ll always book times that allow you to make the most of each city.

London

London may be huge, but Central London can be walked all over, from the quirky pop-up stalls of the south bank to the glitz of the West End and out to Hyde Park. The buzzing cosmopolitan nature of the city probably makes it the most culturally diverse in the world.

  • See some world-famous landmarks
  • Watch a show at one of many West End Theatres
  • Experience the quirky nightlife of Soho

Paris (2 Nights)

Paris is a byword for romance, a synonym for style and the epitome of elegance. The pride of France and one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Paris needs little introduction, from the Eiffel Tower to the Pont Neuf, bedazzling visitors and oozing charisma at every turn.

Paris Guides
Highlights

  • See the Mona Lisa at the Louvre museum
  • Watch a cabaret act the famous Moulin Rouge
  • Experience the colourful nightlife of the Marais

Venice (2 Nights)

Venice is nothing short of unique, built on mudbanks in the lagoon, having forgone the convenience of cars for the charisma of canals. Getting lost in Venice is part of the fun, and if you’re on foot you’ll only find small backstreets or large piazzas, not a single street in sight.

The team at Euroventure was outstanding! Not only were they knowledgeable and helpful, but they were always quick to respond, very accommodating, and made every part of our trip personal and meaningful. Highly recommend Euroventure and would definitely work with them again.

I have just returned from my 1 week interrailing trip! Me and my boyfriend went on the “Iron curtain” package and it was amazing. Euroventure organised everything and made it so easy. I would highly recommend anyone that wants to see more of Europe to go with this company.

My sisters and I had the best trip, we did a variation to the 4 week eastern traveller route and Euroventure were so helpful in making the trip suit our needs. Each hostel was great and in a good location. The info pack was such a great help and an amazing keepsake. The fact all of our travel was booked and set out meant we could spend all our efforts on experiencing everything! We truly had the best time and would 100% recommend to anyone. We’re already looking for our next trip! Thanks again for all your help - Alice, Kailey and Harriet :)

Questions & Answers

Don't see the answer you're looking for?

Question:
What do I get when I book a package?
Answer:
You get all train travel and accommodation included in the price. That is, all train travel between the first city and last city on the trip and accommodation in the best hostels in each city, or in  hotels if you choose this option. For loop trips you also get return train and Eurostar travel from anywhere in the UK to the continent and back, but flights are not included in any of our packages because we do not have airline partnerships. You get breakfast in some hostels too, and can add this as an extra in hotels. You'll also get a detailed itinerary telling you exactly what trains to get and directions to the hostels. So all that's left for you to purchase is flights (if required), travel insurance and spending money.
