Itinerary

Rome (2 nights)

Upon arrival into Rome, head to your 4* hotel for check-in. You can take your time to settle in and relax, before meeting your Tour Leader and the rest of your group later that afternoon, as you head for a guided stroll throughout the alleys of Baroque Rome. You’ll get to see famous landmarks such as Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and the legendary Fontana di Trevi. Get to know your group better over an authentic welcome dinner that evening before heading back to your hotel to rest or explore the city by night at your own pace.

The next day you’ll take a hop-on hop-off bus around Rome to familiarise yourself with the eternal city and take in any remaining sights you’re yet to see. One of the biggest attractions of course is the Colosseum, which you’ll get to skip the line to visit. Don’t forget to visit the surround ruins too, including the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum – some people even prefer this to the Colosseum!

Train to Grosseto

Pienza (1 night)

You’ll depart Rome with your group and board a train to Grosseto – gateway to the Maremma area. Experience the wild side of Tuscany at the Pacrco dell’Uccellina and have a typical lunch made with fresh, locally sourced produce before boarding your next train to what is often described as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy – Buonconvento.

Sample an excellent glass of wine, or two, before your private transfer will take you onto your hotel in Pienza.

Transfer to Val D’Orcia

Val D'orcia (1 Night)

More beautiful landscapes await you today as you travel through rolling hills full of vineyards and fields of wheat grains. Medival castles, ancient villages and quaint isolated houses are more of what you can expect to see – giving you a proper taste of rural Tuscany. Explore the medieval villages of San Quirico d’Orcia and Montalcino – famous for its Brunello wine and the abbey of Sant’Antimo.

Transfer to Siena

Florence (2 nights)

First up is a private transfer to Siena – famous for the Palio horse race. Your guide will take you across the medieval town, seeing Piazza del camp, Palazzo Pubblico, Torre del Mangua and of course the Piazza del Duomo. You’ll have some time to yourself before we take the train to Florence that afternoon, where another walking tour awaits you the next day. There’s no shortage of things to do in the Tuscan capital so spend some time planning to make sure you don’t miss out on anything – especially the many, many museums of offer!

There’s one last group breakfast before it’s time to say goodbye to your Italian family, after an amazing week full of unforgetable memories and experiences.
