Start your adventure in Central Italy and the eternal city of Rome. You’ll soak up the historical and architectural wonders here before heading south towards the gorgeous Southern coastline and the much adorned Amalfi Coast.

Popular with families or the more experienced traveller among you, this group tour is perfect for anyone wanting to travel as part of a group, with elements of luxury provided throughout.

You’ll be guided by a local and experienced tour leader to your accommodation, train station and included activity and they’ll also be on hand to answer any burning questions you may have or tips you want to find out about. With the luggage transfer service, you don’t have to worry about where to store your big bags on each train – you can simply relax, admire the surrounding landscape and then be ready to explore as soon as you step off the train. Tour Description

Get ready to discover Central and Southern Italy in this one week group tour. Your trip will with a walking tour of Baroque Rome, before resting your legs and jumping on a hop-on hop-off bus to see the rest of the sights. Once you’ve explored all there is to know about Rome and it’s history, grab yourself a well-deserved glass of wine and rest up as tomorrow we’ll be heading to the Vatican City for another tour around the smallest country in the world.

From there, it’s time to head south! Italy’s high speed trains offer a real touch of luxury – and with the luggage transfer service, you only need to worry about getting comfy and recharging your batteries ahead of the next stop in Pompeii to explore the ancient ruins.

It’s then time to marvel at Italy’s gorgeous coastline with visits to Sorrento and Capri. Included will be an Amalfi Coast cruise where you’ll be able to admire the unique collection of colours among the shoreline. From here, it’s more of wine, food, sun and sea with your new friends.

Itinerary

Rome (2 nights)

Upon arrival into Rome, head to your 4* hotel for check-in. You can take your time to settle in and relax, before meeting your Tour Leader and the rest of your group later that afternoon, as you head for a guided stroll throughout the alleys of Baroque Rome. You’ll get to see famous landmarks such as Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and the legendary Fontana di Trevi. Get to know your group better over an authentic welcome dinner that evening before heading back to your hotel to rest or explore the city by night at your own pace.

The next day you’ll take a hop-on hop-off bus around Rome to familiarise yourself with the eternal city and take in any remaining sights you’re yet to see – as well as a tour around the incredible Vatican City and it’s museums. In your free time, don’t forget to visit the Colosseum. Be sure to pay a visit the surrounding ruins too, including the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum – some people even prefer this to the Colosseum!

Train to Pompeii

Sorrento (4 nights)

Stopping at the historical Pompeii en route, you’ll have a few hours to explore the ancient ruins with a tour here, before continuing onto your hotel in Sorrento overlooking the sea. It’s here you’ll call home for the next few nights so you can really settle into your room and have the evening for yourself.

Train to Capri

Capri

After breakfast, it is time to discover the island of Capri, an oasis for artists and writers – a great place for celebrity spotting and famous for Italian fashion brands and local hand-crafted shops. Visit the village of Anacapri and take a chairlift high in the sky to Monte Solaro. You can spend your time exploring Villa San Michele and the Axel Munthe Gardens, or simply enjoy a typical Italian lunch in one of the many local restaurants. More beautiful streets, gardens and views await you at every twist and turn around here. Make the most of your stroll around before we take the hydrofoil back to Sorrento. After dinner, at the hotel, you can enjoy the rest of the evening at your own pace.

Return to Sorrento

Amalfi Coast

A full day excursion to the much-loved Amalfi Coast is next up. Make sure you’ve plenty of room on your camera as you’ll be snapping all day, as you take in the breathtaking landscape that connects the two gems of this region – Amalfi and Postiano.

You’ll have the chance to explore both of them up close, taking in the beautiful terraces and unique combination of colours that pair beautiful blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea, which you’ll sail along the coast of.

Return to Sorrento

Sorrento

Day 6 and your last full day on tour, is yours to spend how you wish. Discover the Sorrentine penisula – head for a spot of retail therapy, or continue to sample the different wines and food before you head back to reality. If you’re worn out from the week, chill out by the hotel pool – or relax at one of the local beaches, before meeting your travel family that evening to reflect on your experience and say goodbye.
