Age Range: There is no age limit for this trip. Although is often popular with small families, experienced couples or solo travellers.

Transport: You’ll travel via first class trains – included in your trip – as is a porterage service.  This takes care of all your luggage and big bags for you, making your train journeys simpler and more pleasant, with your bags waiting for you at your hotel, when you’re ready to check in. Where trains aren’t possible, you’ll be transfered by a luxury, air-conditioned coach.

Letojanni /Taormina (2 nights)

Welcome to Sicily!

On Day 1, kick-start your journey in Letojanni, where you’ll check-in at your charming hotel. Take your time to settle in and relax before joining your fellow travelers and friendly tour leader in the afternoon. Get ready to explore Taormina, one of the most sought-after destinations in Sicily. Marvel at the breathtaking views from its natural terrace, overlooking the mesmerizing sea and the majestic Mount Etna. Immerse yourself in history as you explore the Greek-Roman Theater. After an eventful day, return to your hotel and indulge in a delightful welcome dinner.

On Day 2, get ready for an exciting adventure to Mount Etna, the highest peak in Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. Start your day with a leisurely stroll along the beach to Letojanni train station. From there, hop on the Circumetnea train, an iconic railway that has been in operation since 1898, offering picturesque glimpses of this unique landscape. As you travel through charming villages, you’ll be captivated by the beauty of Mount Etna. Next, continue your excursion by bus to reach the “Silvestri Craters” at approximately 1,900 meters. Indulge in a delightful food and wine tasting at a local winery, and for those seeking even more adventure, there’s an option to explore higher peaks by jeep. After an exhilarating day, return to your hotel in Letojanni to unwind and reflect on the wonders you’ve experienced.

Train to Syracuse

Ragusa (2 nighs)

On Day 3 we embark on a captivating journey through Syracuse, one of Sicily’s most fascinating sites. Admire the stunning coastal views from your train window as you make your way from Taormina. Our knowledgeable guide will lead you through the renowned Archaeological Park, home to the impressive Roman amphitheater, Greek theater, and the famous ear of Dionysus. Next, venture to the enchanting island of Ortigia, the oldest part of the city. Lose yourself in its charming narrow alleys, breathtaking sea views, and the magnificent square with its splendid cathedral. In the afternoon, we’ll continue our adventure by bus, heading towards your next destination – Ragusa.

Day 4 awaits, where we’ll unveil the hidden gems of Sicily’s Baroque style. Immerse yourself in the exquisite beauty of the UNESCO sites that grace this region, known to many as the backdrop of the popular TV series “Il Commissario Montalbano”. Begin your exploration in the historic center of Ragusa, known as “Ibla”, an aristocratic city nestled in the Val di Noto. Marvel at the abundance of baroque churches and palaces, as well as the stunning domes that adorn the city. Our journey continues to Modica, a UNESCO World Heritage city celebrated for its divine chocolate and awe-inspiring architecture. Our final stop is Noto, the capital of late Sicilian Baroque. Wander through its famous Arco, admire the magnificent aristocratic palaces with their ornate balconies, marvel at the lavish churches adorned with intricate decorations, visit the grand cathedral with its majestic staircase, and take in the beauty of the city theater – all shining examples of the Baroque style. As the day concludes, we’ll return to the comfort of our hotel in Ragusa for an unforgettable overnight stay.

After a delicious breakfast the next morning, we’ll depart by bus to our next destination.

Luxury Coach to Palermo

Palermo (3 nights)

Here in Agrigento, you can enjoy a delicious lunch while soaking in the breathtaking views of the Temple Valley. Afterward, our knowledgeable guide will reveal the secrets of the Valley’s awe-inspiring temples, including the well-preserved Temple of Concorde and the ancient Temple of Hercules. We’ll end the day with a delightful meal together before embarking on a scenic train journey through the Sicilian countryside to reach Palermo, our next destination.

On Day 6, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Palermo. Join us for a leisurely walking tour, starting at the renowned Teatro Massimo and strolling through the bustling local market, where you can taste authentic Sicilian delights like Arancinas or savor the refreshing “AUTISTA” lemonade. Explore the magnificent Cathedral and admire the architectural marvels of “I Quattro canti.” After some free time for lunch, hop on a local bus to visit Monreale, a charming town nestled on Monte Caputo. Take a guided tour of the stunning Monreale Cathedral, an exquisite example of Norman architecture.

Day 7 and your final full day takes us to the picturesque village of Cefalù. In just half an hour by train, you’ll be transported to this medieval fishers’ haven. Explore the charming streets, relax on the beach, or embark on a hike up La Rocca for panoramic views. Don’t miss the incredible Arabic-Norman Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site that resembles a majestic fortress. We’ll return to Palermo by regional train, where you can spend your last evening in Sicily, cherishing the memories you’ve made.
