Route: Stockholm Abisko Kiruna

Transport: This route is a fast paced 5 day trip taking you from Stockholm all the way to the Arctic Circle. Begin in Stockholm, spend the day there and then travel overnight by train to Kiruna. Then spend the following 3 nights in your accommodation.
Availability: The Aurora Sky Station in Abisko run Night Visits from the 20th November – 20th March. Between June and Mid-July there are 24 hours of daylight in Lapland, so we recommend travelling during the winter months for the chance to see the Northern Lights.

Hop on board your cozy sleeper train and admire the serene, snowy views, before waking up in beautiful Abisko.
Abisko is a haven for winter adventurers. This tiny village is nestled among mountains and lakes plays host to the Aurora Sky Station, widely said to be the best place in the world to see the Northern Lights due its minimal light and noise pollution. Take a 20 minute cable car and admire the serene beauty of Abisko national park as it unfolds before you – a truly magical way to spend the night.
Next, travel along the Swedish/Norwegian border, to Kiruna – gateway to the Arctic Circle and home to the famous IceHotel.
If you upgrade to the hotel option we’ll organise your transfer as well, so you can enjoy either a cozy IceHotel warm room, or a cold room (literally made of ice) for a night if you’re feeling brave! Experience dog sledding or horse riding, take a wildlife safari, come face to face with Lapland’s Reindeers or learn about traditional Sami culture on one of the Lapland Excursions based at the IceHotel. This truly is a trip you’ll never forget!

Night Train to Abisko – 17 hours
Abisko is often said to be the best place in the world to see the Northern lights. A national park filled with lakes, mountains and hardly a streetlamp in sight, it’s the perfect destination for an arctic tour. Take a cable car ride up the mountain to see the famous Aurora Borealis, which occur more often here than almost anywhere else!

Train to Kiruna – 2 hours
Gateway to the Arctic Circle, Kiruna lies near the Norwegian border. It is famous for being a centre of winter activities, such as cross country skiing and horse riding.
Stay in the town to explore the surrounding area, or upgrade to the famous IceHotel to make your stay even more memorable! (You can add on a Warm or Cold Room when you head to check-out)
