Trip Description

Feeling stylishly Scandinavian? This 1 week adventure was made for you

You can’t say you’ve travelled all of Europe until you’ve been to Scandinavia. This land of natural beauty and minimalistic style is huge and so different to the rest of Europe, we thought it deserved a whole package to itself.

Start your interrail trip around Northern Europe by heading to the Danish capital. The liberal and charming city of Copenhagen is sure to win you over with its amazing architecture and friendly locals. Don’t miss out on seeing its jaw-droppingly beautiful nearby castles, too! Then make your way up north (with a camera to hand) through the stunning Swedish countryside and into Norway. Its capital, Oslo, will welcome you with open arms, offering a range of museums and sights all within easy walking distance. Venture further out into the fjords and you’ll also get to experience the great Scandi outdoors with the most stunning of backdrops.

Interrail back through Sweden as you head to colourful Stockholm, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Contemporary, slick and stylish are just a few words we could use to describe this gem!

If you don’t want to stop there, you can extend your trip to take the overnight ferry across the Baltic Sea to Helsinki, Finland – a harbour town set on a picturesque fjord. Brimming with edgy art and an alternative bar scene, you’ll have plenty of photo ops!

What's included?

  • All overland transport tickets from the first to the last city, as shown in the key.
  • Accommodation in top-rated, centrally located hostels or hotels, tested by us.
  • Walking directions between the stations and your booked accommodation.
  • Optional walking tours, pub crawls and other activities at our partner hostels.
  • A personalised travel booklet with maps, language guides, top tips, and more.
  • Access to your itinerary, tickets and documents on the Euroventure App.
  • Access to our 24hr emergency phone number while you’re away.

The Route

Itinerary

This is a short trip offering 3 awesome Scandinavian cities with plenty of time to see the sights. Journeys are around 6-8 hours each and involving some full days of travel, but we’ll always ensure that you arrive in good time to make the most of each city.

Copenhagen (3 Nights)

Copenhagen is a place where equal rights and liberal attitudes take precedence, a land where the atmosphere is incredibly safe and remarkably relaxed. Make sure you visit the hippie commune of Christiania where squatters’ rights still hold sway.

Copenhagen Guides
Highlights

  • Visit the little mermaid
  • Go to one of the world’s oldest theme parks
  • Sample the fruity beers at plenty of microbreweries

Oslo (2 Nights)

Oslo will take you by surprise. It is not a big city, but it has exceptional museums and you can walk all over and around it into the overlooking hills. Head to the ski jump for a thrilling view, or if that’s not your thing go and see Edvard Munch’s famous “The Scream” at The National Gallery.

Oslo Guides
Highlights

  • See some excellent preserved viking ships
  • Understand Norway’s heritage at the Folk Museum
  • Have a go at the ski jump overlooking the city

Stockholm Sweden

Stockholm (2 Nights)

Stockholm has been described as the most beautiful city in Europe with its calm waterways, colourful buildings and cobbled streets. The Swedes are known for their sleek design, polite manners and propensity to have fun. Forget the meatballs, Stockholm has much more.

Stockholm Guides
Highlights

  • Wander up the cobbled streets of the old town
  • Admire the colourful skyline from a boat tour
  • Visit the ABBA museum

How to get there

The quickest way to get to Copenhagen and home from Stockholm will be to book a budget flight each way. Check SkyScanner for prices. You could also start off by taking the train to Copenhagen, so just ask us about adding this on.

I recently returned from the Central Europe tour and I couldn't have asked for a better trip with Euroventure! I booked a group tour so it gave me the chance to meet likeminded people plus you don't have the stress of arranging everything. I highly recommend this if you're apprehensive about travelling alone. I feel so much more confident to travel solo in the future thanks to this trip. Our tour leader Tom was fantastic, making sure the trip ran smoothly and made great recommendations on food and things to do in every city as well as advising which metro links and stops we would need to go to, to get to certain places. While remaining professional throughout the trip, he was very friendly, extremely patient and a good laugh. I will definitely be booking another trip with Euroventure in the near future.

Just returned from my month long trip round Europe. The Euroventure team tailored my trip to my every need, the customer service during the booking process was excellent and any changes or queries I had were quickly and efficiently dealt with. My trip was amazing, the hostels booked were great, the team were responsive when I got lost on the trains in Poland and the travel book provided was unbelievably helpful. I could not have hoped for a better experience and would highly recommend Euroventure to anyone planning a trip. Cannot wait to start planning my next trip with them!

I have just returned from my solo 4 week whole hog trip. As this was my first solo travelling adventure I booked with Euroventure and they made everything stress free for me by booking all my travel and accommodation so all I needed to focus on was enjoying my time in Europe. The handbook is great and had lots or recommendations for activities and where to eat. During the whole trip I felt very independent but was assured by the knowledge if I had any problems I could contact them. (Luckily I didn’t need to). If the prospect of travelling solo for the first time is a bit daunting I’d recommend Euroventure , a great company to help you travel around Europe.

I couldn’t fault Euroventure at all. I did the Whole Hog 6 week trip, and they were so helpful from start to finish. The handbook you receive before your trip is so useful I used it everyday and the team went above and beyond to make it personal and a stress-free trip. Every problem I faced I rang Euroventure and they always put me at ease and had a solution. Definitely will use them again!!!

Questions & Answers

Don't see the answer you're looking for?

Question:
Are transfers to Europe included?
Answer:
Our packages do not include flights to the start and from the end of the trip. We have plenty of trips however that do include Eurostar trains from London, and with most of these you are able to start from any mainland UK train station at no extra cost, as well as return there at the end of your trip. We just need to take into account the amount of time it takes you to travel from your UK home station to London to catch the Eurostar to Paris or Brussels, and your onward connections if necessary.
Question:
How do I pay?
Answer:
All set trips, custom routes and group tours can be booked with a £50 deposit per person or in full (remainder balance is due 90 days before departure). For set trips and group tours - You can book and pay online by card on the package page. Any remainder balance can be paid online using your secure online portal (you’ll find the link to this in your booking summary) by card. For customer trips - When you are happy with your package, you can pay Euroventure online using your secure online portal (you’ll find the link to this in your booking summary) by card. All payments can also be made over the phone, using online bank transfer or over the counter at your local bank. Our friendly advisors will guide you through the whole process from start to finish.
Question:
What do I get when I book a package?
Answer:
You get all train travel and accommodation included in the price. That is, all train travel between the first city and last city on the trip and accommodation in the best hostels in each city, or in  hotels if you choose this option. For loop trips you also get return train and Eurostar travel from anywhere in the UK to the continent and back, but flights are not included in any of our packages because we do not have airline partnerships. You get breakfast in some hostels too, and can add this as an extra in hotels. You'll also get a detailed itinerary telling you exactly what trains to get and directions to the hostels. So all that's left for you to purchase is flights (if required), travel insurance and spending money.
Question:
When do I receive my tickets?
Answer:
Once we receive your final payment we will get to work on purchasing your train tickets which don’t become available as early as the accommodation. In some cases, we can’t get hold of tickets until four weeks in advance, so we normally say you should expect your travel pack around 2-4 weeks before you depart.
