Helsingor

Visit Kronborg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. It’s also home to plenty of breathtaking Gothic churches and medieval architecture.

There’s a train from Kobenhavn H running roughly every 20 mins, taking roughly 45 mins each way

Hven

Hven is a Swedish island between Sweden and Denmark, known as a paradise island. Enjoy the Hven whiskey distillery for tastings and a tour, horse and carriage rides as well as bike rides around the island and not to forget Tycho Brahe’s underground observatory.

Daily ferry from Copenhagen takes 90 mins, one morning ferry and one afternoon ferry (09.15 and 16.30

Malmo, Sweden

See the 15th century Malmo Castle and the extraordinary 16km long Oresund Bridge which connects Sweden and Denmark. Visit the unique and futuristic Turning Torso building as well as Lilla Torg which translates to small square, the perfect place for quirky bars and restaurants.

Just a 35 min train ride from Copenhagen.

Lund, Sweden

Kulturen open-air museum, botanical garden, cathedral, art galleries.

To reach the museum you can take the train and bus to Lund from Kobenhavn H. Journey altogether is around 60 mins and there are a few trains running per hour.

Funen/fyn

In the city of Odense on the second largest Danish island, is Hans Christian Andersen’s birthplace, Egeskov Castle. You can explore the birthplace of this Danish legend easily from Copenhagen.

Total journey time is 2h 30 mins- train from Copenhagen to Odense, bus from Odense to Brylle Kirke, then 13min walk to Funen. A few trains run per hour.
