This evening we’ll take you to our favourite backpacker bar for dinner and drinks.

Watch the surfers, take a dip in the clear blue waters, take part in a yoga class on the rooftop of your hostel and enjoy a ‘cheese and wine night’ with new mates. You’ll have two days here so unpack, unwind and soak up the beachy vibes of Bondi!

Days 5-7 – Bondi and Manly Beach, Australia

This morning check out the boutique shops in Bondi’s laneways before washing the sand off your feet and heading back to the city. Spend the next day chilling, hop on a ferry to Manly or join a day trip to The Blue Mountains. This evening, get ready for the ultimate party night! We’ll take you on a pub crawl of the best backpacker bars and clubs in Sydney. The next morning, we’ll take you on the famous Coogee to Bondi coastal walk, stopping off at five stunning beaches and coves along the way. Just another reason to fall in love with Sydney!

Day 8: East Coast Australia

This evening, we begin our East Coast adventure. We’ll travel overnight by luxury air-conditioned bus – complete with WiFi, USB ports and reclining seats – to our first destination, Byron Bay. Sit back, relax and get ready for your epic East Coast adventure!

Days 9-12 – Byron Bay, Australia

Byron Bay is famous for it’s amazing beaches, laid-back-surfer attitude and boho vibes. Here we’ll explore the town and beaches and take part in a professional surf lesson. We’ll also explore the famous Byron Lighthouse, standing at the most easterly point of the Australian mainland.

Days 13-15 – Surfer’s Paradise, Australia

Surfer’s Paradise: where long stretches of stunning sandy beaches meet high rise buildings and never ending nightlife! By day we’ll explore the town and beaches and at night, we’ll get dressed up and head to some of our favourite party bars and clubs for the real Surfer’s experience!

Days 16-17 – Brisbane, Australia

Our Brisbane accommodation is right in the city centre. We’ll spend the next two days checking out some of Brisbane’s hotspots including Street’s Beach, Brisbane River and the cultural hub of the South bank. You’ll also have the option to head to the famous Australia Zoo to see some amazing wildlife!

Days 18-19: Noosa

You will love Noosa! We’ll hike to lookouts boasting incredible views over Noosa’s spectacular coastline, spotting amazing Australian wildlife along the way. Chill by the resort pool or enjoy a few cold ones at the bar.

Days 20-24 – Rainbow Beach + Fraser Island

This morning, we arrive at Rainbow beach, the gateway to Fraser Island! Spend the next day visiting the resident pod of dolphins! The next 3 days will be spent on beautiful Fraser Island: explore sand dunes by 4×4, drive through lush rainforest, swim in crystal clear lakes and spot rare Aussie wildlife. We’ll be staying at our private campsite just metres away from the beach!

Days 25-27 – Town of 1770, Australia

Next, we arrive in the small coastal town of 1770. Enjoy a camp bonfire and gather around the fire pit for some wood-fired marshmallows. Keen to explore the area? Channel your inner biker with 1770’s famous scooter tour of the town. This evening, we’ll hop on the bus, waking up in Airlie Beach!

Days 28-30: Airlie Beach & Whitsunday Islands

We’ll snorkel in pristine blue waters, getting up close with tropical fish and visit some of the whitest sandy beaches in the world. The views here are breathtaking!

Days 31-32: Airlie Beach

This morning, we return to the tropical bliss of Airlie beach. Later on, we’ll head to the bar for our post-island party; eat, drink and be merry as we reminisce on our past few days! Wander to Airlie’s harbourfront lagoon for a dip, or explore the surrounding national park.

Days 33-35: Magnetic Island

Magnetic island is a gorgeous tropical haven with heaps to see and do! Explore the many bays and golden sandy beaches, take the guided Fort’s walk offering incredible views of the island and come up close with koalas and wallabies at our hostels on-site wildlife park. Feeling adventurous? Take your new mates on a tour of the island in a 4WD ‘barbie’ car. The photo opportunities are endless!

Days 36-37: Mission Beach

Today we travel to the beautiful beachside town of Mission beach where the reef and rainforest meet. We’ll rise early the following morning and hike to the neighbouring National Park, part of the traditional country of The Djiru Aboriginal people. Mission beach is also home to Australia’s highest (15,000ft!) and most popular skydiving spot – an experience not to be missed for the adrenaline junkies out there!

Days 38-42: Cairns, Atherton Tablelands, Great Barrier Reef

This evening we arrive in Cairns, our final stop along the East Coast and the most amazing backpacker destination! Our first adventure in Cairns takes us to the Tablelands region where we’ll spend the day swimming under waterfalls, sliding down natural rock slides and spotting shy platypuses in the wild. The next day, we explore the famous Great Barrier Reef. We’ll cruise to the outer reef to snorkel with inquisitive Nemo’s, stingrays, turtles and learn all about the diverse marinelife of the reef. In Cairns, we’ll hang out at Cairn’s famous harbourfront lagoon, hit the local bars and party the night away at our hostel’s very own club!

On our last night we’ll meet for a farewell dinner and reflect on an epic 6 weeks of Aussie East Coast fun!

The team at Euroventure was outstanding! Not only were they knowledgeable and helpful, but they were always quick to respond, very accommodating, and made every part of our trip personal and meaningful. Highly recommend Euroventure and would definitely work with them again.

I have just returned from my 1 week interrailing trip! Me and my boyfriend went on the “Iron curtain” package and it was amazing. Euroventure organised everything and made it so easy. I would highly recommend anyone that wants to see more of Europe to go with this company.

My sisters and I had the best trip, we did a variation to the 4 week eastern traveller route and Euroventure were so helpful in making the trip suit our needs. Each hostel was great and in a good location. The info pack was such a great help and an amazing keepsake. The fact all of our travel was booked and set out meant we could spend all our efforts on experiencing everything! We truly had the best time and would 100% recommend to anyone. We’re already looking for our next trip! Thanks again for all your help - Alice, Kailey and Harriet :)

Questions & Answers

Don't see the answer you're looking for?

Question:
For the Australian packages, what are the coaches like?
Answer:
On our Australia routes you travel between cities by Greyhound coach and not trains. The coaches are modern, air conditioned and comfortable. All coaches are direct and make regular stops at service stations. Routes are designed so that journeys are not too long - take a look at the itinerary for specific journey times.
Question:
How do I pay for a group tour?
Answer:
You can book and pay online from the package page with either a £150 deposit per person or in full. We will then send you a booking summary confirming your booking. If you have not paid in full your booking summary will contain a link for you to pay the remainder balance (at least 90 days before departure). Alternatively you can call or email us to secure your place on the trip, and pay over the phone, via online bank transfer or over the counter at your bank.
Question:
What are the night trains like?
Answer:
The night trains are a great way to save time by travelling overnight in a comfortable environment. As far as availability allows, we try to get our customers into individual bunk beds in mixed lockable compartments of 6 people, with bedding included. If you want to travel in single-sex compartments or with fewer people this can be arranged as well at an extra cost. There are toilets located at one or both ends of the carriage and there is a guard that will supervise the corridor, check your tickets and let you know when you’re arriving. Sometimes the guards will take your passport and ticket off you when you get on – don’t panic – this is a safety precaution and they’ll always get them back to you in the morning.
Question:
What do I get when I book a package?
Answer:
You get all train travel and accommodation included in the price. That is, all train travel between the first city and last city on the trip and accommodation in the best hostels in each city, or in  hotels if you choose this option. For loop trips you also get return train and Eurostar travel from anywhere in the UK to the continent and back, but flights are not included in any of our packages because we do not have airline partnerships. You get breakfast in some hostels too, and can add this as an extra in hotels. You'll also get a detailed itinerary telling you exactly what trains to get and directions to the hostels. So all that's left for you to purchase is flights (if required), travel insurance and spending money.
Question:
When do I pay?
Answer:
Once you’ve confirmed your package with our team via email or by phone, you need to pay a non-refundable £150 deposit per person to reserve a package. You then need to make full payment at least 90 days before the start of the trip. We can also arrange a set of instalments if you are coordinating a lot of people to pay.
